  • Birds: Bird ownership is popular among 5.7 million households in the U.S., with approximately 20.3 million pet birds in the country.
  • Small animals: Small animals, such as rabbits, guinea pigs, and hamsters, are owned by 5.4 million households. The total number of small animals as pets is estimated to be around 14 million.
  • Reptiles: Reptile ownership accounts for about 4.5 million households in the U.S., with approximately 9.4 million pet reptiles in the country.
