Ice rental

The DECC houses two skating sheets of ice and one curling facility, which can be used or transformed for different activities and events, including hockey, curling and ice skating.

Ice Schedule & Rental


Ice rental rates

DECC Arena: $255 per hour

AMSOIL Arena: $275 per hour

Click on the Ice Schedule & Rental button above, create an account and request or book your desired ice time. Please remember that each ice time will have a 15 minute resurface time attached to the end of it. Minimum ice rental time is 1 hour and maximum is 2 hours. For assistance scheduling large blocks for tournaments, please contact the Ice Schedule Coordinator by email: ice@decc.org.

Your Ice Rental DOES NOT include free parking. You may choose to park at an alternative parking lot if you wish to avoid the parking charge. The current daily rate for parking is $10 and will allow you to enter and exit the parking facility throughout the day. Season Passes ($30 October-April) are available to purchase at each parking booth.


AMSOIL ARENA DIRECTIONS

From the RAMP or LOT, go to the ground floor lobby of AMSOIL Arena. Entrance E is underneath the skywalk that connects the parking ramp to the Arena.

DROPPING OFF
Drop-offs can walk across the sidewalk on the north end of the arena facing the city and enter the facility underneath the skywalk connecting the parking ramp to the Arena at Entrance E.


DECC ARENA DIRECTIONS

From the RAMP, exit out of the southwest stair tower onto ground level. Make your way to Entrance C on the east side of the turnaround loop.

From the surface PARKING LOT. Go to ENTRANCE C which is located on the east face of the turnaround loop (Cityside Convention Center Service Entrance). Follow signage to your Dressing Pod.

DROPPING OFF
Enter DECC PARKING LOT at the North or East Gate (next to the William A Irvin). Go to ENTRANCE C which is located on the east face of the turnaround loop (City Side Convention Center Service Entrance).


CANCELLATION POLICY

You may cancel individual bookings of ice time at least 10 business days prior and not be charged. If you cancel booked ice times less than 10 business days prior to the booked time, you will be invoiced the full amount. Please let us know as soon as possible if you need to cancel ice so that other groups may utilize the slot.

Tournaments or large blocks of ice (2+ hours) must be cancelled 2 months prior to the booked date or you will be charged 50% of the booked rate. If you cancel less than 10 business days prior to the booked time, you will be charged the full amount.

Inclement weather cancellations will be handled on a case-by-case basis. If there are hazardous conditions that will not allow safe travel to the arena, please call us immediately at 218-390-0279 or 218-623-1218 to work out a plan. If you do not call the DECC to work out an arrangement, you will be billed for the full amount.

The DECC reserves the right to book entertainment or special events that could cause cancellation of your previously booked ice time. If this happens, we will notify you as soon as possible.

Duluth Figure Skating Club lessons

Get out on the ice by attending the Duluth Figure Skating Club’s (DFSC) classes. They run for two hours and are open for all ages and abilities. To find out more details, please contact DFSC at 218-590-1710 or visit www.duluthfsc.org.

Winter skating parties

The City of Duluth Parks & Recreation department hosts free winter skating parties.

  • Free and open to the public
  • Bring your own skates
  • No chairs, sticks, pucks or shoes on the ice
  • Prizes for kids
  • Music provided
  • Helmets strongly encouraged
  • Kids 10 & under must be accompanied by an adult

There are currently no open skates scheduled at the DECC or AMSOIL Arenas, but weekly open skates are offered at the Essentia Duluth Heritage Center.  More information is available on the Duluth Parks & Rec website.


Duluth Curling Club

The curling culture runs deep in Duluth. And it all starts at the DECC’s North Pioneer Hall, where Olympians and fun seekers alike gather together and practice. The hall eclipses all other curling venues in the United States with 13 curling sheets and has hosted two World Championships and the US Olympic Trials.
