DECC Highlights Increased Use of Space

 

Duluth, MN (February 22, 2021) – The Duluth Entertainment Convention Center (DECC) will be the busiest it’s been since the start of the pandemic this week, utilizing more than seven different areas of the complex and grounds.

Events this week are comprised of UMD Women’s Hockey, UMD Men’s Hockey, two youth hockey tournaments, a free food giveaway in the parking lot, the MDH COVID-19 testing site, the COVID-19 community vaccination site, and a performance by the Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra.  Additionally, the Duluth Curling Club and Marcus Theatre, both located within the DECC complex, will also be open.

“The restrictions of 250 people maximum at each casinon utan spelpaus event continues to present a financial challenge for the DECC, but seeing an increase in the overall use of our space is welcome but you can also play casino games online in the situs slot game here,” said Roger Reinert, Interim Executive Director at the DECC. “This is the busiest the building has been since the start of the pandemic, and that is a hopeful. Our goal remains working hard to ensure the DECC is the DECC again. Our community needs that.”

The Duluth Entertainment and Convention Center (DECC) is a publicly-owned multi-use facility located on the beautiful shores of Lake Superior in Duluth, Minnesota. The DECC offers 800,000 square feet of indoor space and is open for public gatherings and events of up to 250 people. The DECC is actively working with State leaders to develop flexible maximum capacity guidelines based on maximum seating, entries, exits, bathrooms, and HVAC/air filtration capacity.
