The November Executive Order forced us to take a step back and cancel, or postpone, those events,” said Roger Reinert, DECC Interim Executive Director. “Now we’re seeing an increase in events, and as a result, we’re seeing public confidence and optimism grow.” Upcoming events include the Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra concert performance, UMD Men’s Hockey against Miami, the Duluth Amateur Hockey tournament, and the COVID-19 Testing Site. Spaces within the DECC remain limited to a 150 maximum capacity due to the current restrictions. Events will be held in different areas of the building throughout the complex, each with their own occupancy guidelines. Reinert added, “It’s possible that by the end of February, we’ll see our busiest week since March 2020, and that’s very exciting. This is the momentum that is going to help the DECC be the DECC again.” # # # The Duluth Entertainment and Convention Center (DECC) is a publicly-owned multi-use facility located on the beautiful shores of Lake Superior in Duluth, Minnesota. The DECC offers 800,000 square feet of indoor space and is open for public gatherings and events of up to 250 people. The DECC is actively working with State leaders to develop flexible maximum capacity guidelines based on maximum seating, entries, exits, bathrooms, and HVAC/air filtration capacity.
