DECC Anticipates Busiest Weekend since November

Duluth, MN (February 5, 2021) – The Duluth Entertainment Convention Center (DECC) is expecting this weekend will be its busiest since Governor Walz’s last Executive Order on November 10th, 2020.

“Last fall, we were moving forward with several smaller events and were building positive momentum. The November Executive Order forced us to take a step back and cancel, or postpone, those events,” said Roger Reinert, DECC Interim Executive Director. “Now we’re seeing an increase in events, and as a result, we’re seeing public confidence and optimism grow.”

Upcoming events include the Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra concert performance, UMD Men’s Hockey against Miami, the Duluth Amateur Hockey tournament, and the COVID-19 Testing Site. Spaces within the DECC remain limited to a 150 maximum capacity due to the current restrictions. Events will be held in different areas of the building throughout the complex, each with their own occupancy guidelines.

Reinert added, “It’s possible that by the end of February, we’ll see our busiest week since March 2020, and that’s very exciting. This is the momentum that is going to help the DECC be the DECC again.”
