Concert Bag Policy for Symphony Hall

The Duluth Entertainment Convention Center prioritizes the safety of guests and employees. In order to better meet today’s demands for crowd security, an enhanced concert bag policy will be in effect for Symphony Hall.

  • Small bags such as a clutch purse or wristlet that do not exceed 4.5”x6.5”, with or without a handle or strap, may be carried into the venue.
  • Clear totes made of plastic, vinyl, or PVC that do not exceed 12”x6”x12”, may be carried into the venue.
  • Re-sealable, clear plastic storage bag no larger than 1-gallon may be carried into the venue.
  • Medically necessary bags including breast pumps are permitted and subject to inspection.

Please leave prohibited items at home. Guests with bags not meeting guidelines will be asked to return them to their vehicle as an item check is not available.

The DECC prohibits items including but are not limited to: weapons of any kind including pocket knives, professional cameras and camera bags, outside food and beverage, coolers, backpacks, fanny packs, luggage, seat cushions, strollers, chain wallets, selfie sticks, or any bag larger than the permissible size.

Will this bag policy affect all Symphony Hall and AMSOIL Arena events?

No. This bag policy is acting as a test launch of enhanced security measures for major events in Symphony Hall. Should any policy be made permanent moving forward, those details will be released at that time.

Can I bring a stroller?

The DECC and AMSOIL Arena do host many family-friendly events to which strollers and children are welcome.  Some events may ask you to check your stroller due to space constraints.  Please do not bring strollers to the Newsboys concert as there is no item check available.

Are empty water bottles allowed in the venue?

Yes – waters bottles may be brought into Symphony Hall if completely empty.

Can I bring a clear drawstring bag?

Yes – A clear cinch bag is allowed if the size falls within the 12″x 6″x 12″ limit.

Are wallet chains allowed?

No – chain wallets are not allowed.
