TEAGUE ALEXY AND THE COMMON THREAD

Award-winning Duluth-based musician, author, and storyteller Teague Alexy has a new six-piece band. Teague Alexy & The Common Thread perform songs from their new album coming in 2023 as well as songs from Teague’s extensive back catalog. Teague has long been a stalwart of the Minnesota music scene as well as one of the founding brothers in the national-touring Americana act Hobo Nephews of Uncle Frank. Teague’s guitar, harmonica, and songwriting are clearly influenced by his home in Duluth, his childhood in New Jersey, and his life as a traveling musical hobo that includes lengthy excursions through blues, reggae, Irish music, bluegrass, hip-hop, country and folk. Teague’s storytelling also has deeper roots to his Irish ancestry. A ‘Teague’ in ancient Ireland was a traveling storytelling poet. Teague’s book, The New Folklore: Lyrical Tales for Dreamers & Thinkers, was published by North Star Press in 2017.

ABOUT MUSIC ON THE SHIP

When Singer/ Songwriter Charity Benedict returned to Duluth, she was looking for a unique venue to bring local musicians. Music On The Ship is her vision & creation!

Benedict says, “I wanted to find a really cool place that had never showcased local musicians and bring those two worlds together, vibe and energy.” Because of her efforts, we’ll be VIBING for six Thursdays this summer!
Starting July 25, the Irvin will feature a variety of genres (from jazz to hard rock to 80’s pop) performed by local musicians.
