The Petlandia Pet Expo has everything from education and entertainment to local vendors to help our fur friends get ready for sweater weather and winter play. NO PET? NO PROBLEM There will be two rescue organizations on hand with cats and dogs looking for their forever home: Animal Allies and PJ Rescue. WANT TO TRY PET PARENTING FIRST? Photo: PJs Rescue Two organizations at Petlandia will be looking for volunteer families to foster pets. Puppa’s Pals provides foster placement of pets whose people temporarily cannot care for them. Foster families commit to caring for these animals for three to twelve months through hospitalizations, house fires, escaping domestic violence, incarceration, and homelessness. Also, PJs Rescue, in addition to seeking homes, is looking for foster families for dogs awaiting their new homes. Being in a shelter can be stressful while fostering promotes positive socialization and a more adoptable dog. ENTERTAINMENT & DEMONSTRATIONS DOCK DOGS If joy is contagious, you’ll catch it as the Northern Star Dock Dogs jump into a 27,000-gallon pool! Dogs will compete for length, height and speed as they retrieve from the water. The competition will happen nearly non-stop throughout the weekend. DOG COMMUNICATION Saturday | 1:00 and 4:00 PM Ever wish your dog could talk? It turns out they’re always telling you things with their body language. K9 DEMOS Saturday | 2:00 PM Sunday | 1:00 PM Watch these highly trained dogs show off their discipline and skills in suspect apprehension and obedience while highlighting the deep bond between the dog and their handler. On Sunday only, the popular YouTube creators Snake Discovery will introduce attendees to the world of reptiles from snakes to salamanders. These pros will be available after their show to answer your questions. Thank you for filling our email box with smiles and laughs. The best of the best have been edited into a compilation that will play throughout the weekend.
