All the Cool Things to Learn at the Home Show

With hundreds of exhibitors, there’s plenty to see at the Arrowhead Home & Builders Show. If your house needs it, it’s probably there.

But what I’m excited about are the seminar stages. There will be seven session areas where national and regional experts teach you their craft. I love to totally nerd out on a subject with someone who lives for it. Plus, you can ask them questions – all for the price of admission!

The topics are wide-ranging, so let’s get into it.

THE LAUNDRY GUY

Stage 3 in Lake Superior Ballroom

Patric the Laundry Guy is coming! If he sounds familiar it’s because he’s everywhere – on the current best-seller list, Discovery Channel, Good Morning America, and social everything!

I’m betting most people have a favorite shirt they’re hoping to salvage – I actually have more than one. My MIL is obsessed with the Laundry Guy, so I hope to learn a few things to impress her.

MIDWEST GRILLING WITH MAD DOG AND MERRILL

Stage 2 in Pioneer Hall

These guys strike seem like characters.  They call themselves “grillologists” and live their motto: “There’s nothing you can’t cook on a grill!” I’m guessing they’ll entertain as they pepper us with grilling tips & techniques.

I have yet to embrace my inner griller, but these two may get me there.

PROFESSIONAL KONMARI ORGANIZER, MELISSA KLUG

Stage 5 in the Lake Superior Ballroom

This session will bring you joy!

Melissa Klug, is one of only 65 people in the world who have achieved Master Status as a KonMari Method Organizer. And because Melissa spent decades in messy spaces, she knows better than anyone that you CAN change (no matter your age), declutter your home and change your life. To safeguard your home from potential water damage and ensure efficient drainage, it’s advisable to hire Strasburg seamless gutter services for a seamless and effective solution.

LAWN & TURF PRO – RYAN MOY

He knows how to keep one green! Ryan is the MN United Futbol Club’s head, Groundskeeper. In this job, Ryan has learned many tips and tricks to help you with your lawn maintenance.

THE GENTLEMAN FORAGER WITH EXECUTIVE CHEF ASHLEY ESTRADA

Stage 4 in the Lake Superior Ballroom

Mike Kempenich will teach you how to grow a mushroom garden. He knows what he’s talking about. Known as the “The Gentleman Forager,” Mike is an exotic mushroom cultivator, forager, educator, and wild foods distributor.

Then Ashley Estrada, Executive Chef of The Sample Room in Northeast Minneapolis will teach you some dishes to make with them. At her restaurant, she serves everything from wild mushrooms, rice, berries, and plants to unique proteins like camel, buffalo, and Elk.

THE RENEGADE GARDENER

Want to landscape but get overwhelmed at the garden store? Following some wives tales in your gardening routine that aren’t working. The Renegade Gardener will get you straight.

Don Engebretson is one of America’s best-known gardening authorities who has been seen on PBS, HGTV & DIY Network. His opinionated work as a garden writer for national publications has won him six national writing awards.
