Arrowhead Ice Fishing & Winter Show – Know Before You Go! Posted on December 7, 2022March 28, 2023 by Lucie It’s nearly time! You may know how to do winter, but after a visit to the Arrowhead Ice Fishing & Winter show – well, we’ll all know better! And after reading this blog, you’ll know how to get the most of this show. First off, here’s the general info: It’s at the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center starting Friday and runs through Sunday. Friday, Dec 9: Noon – 8PM Saturday, Dec 10: 10AM – 8PM Sunday, Dec. 11; 10AM – 4PM Get Advice from the Pros Captain Jarrid Houston will host panel discussions on a variety of topics. Discussions will take place throughout Friday, Saturday and Sunday. This will be your opportunity to engage in conversation, listen and learn from the best, to elevate your ice fishing skills. Panel 1 – Friday 3PM; Saturday 11AM & 3PM; Sunday 11:30AM Brad Hawthorn, Hawthorn Guide Services Corey Bechtold, Macula Tackle Alice Wiese, Clam Pro Staff /Wheezy Outdoors Panel 2 – Friday 1PM & 5pm; 1PM & 5PM; Sunday 1:30PM Grant Sorensen, Superior Angling Host & Eskimo Pro Staff Capt. Justin Wiese, Clam Pro Staff /Wheezy Outdoors Chuck Johnson, Eskimo Pro Staff Get Deals Exhibitors – over 130 of them! — will have everything from augers, rods & reels, to campers, ATVs, snowmobiles — and the outdoor gear you’ll need to use it all. And just like at other events like the State Fair, they’re offering expo-only deals. See the Sea Lions Sea Lion Splash will put on entertaining and educational shows for kids and adults alike. During each presentation, the sea lion stars demonstrate how well they have bonded with their trainers, show off their natural behaviors, and even teach kids how to recycle! Between shows, they enjoy lots of time to play with one another and their trainers in the spacious pools installed especially for them or just to lounge in the sun and relax. Under the watchful eyes of their experienced trainers, they receive round-the-clock care and attention. Each of the sea lions being cared for by Sea Lion Splash LLC has been assigned to them by the National Marine Fisheries Service (informally known as NOAA Fisheries), a federal agency that is a division of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. Sea Lion Splash is the only traveling, self-contained Sea Lion Attraction in the United States. Fish for Prizes Catch a Rainbow Trout for a chance to win redeemable certificates and prizes presented by Eskimo Ice Fishing Gear. Over $10,000 in prizes and redeemable certificates were awarded to winners at our last Ice Basin! Fish at the Frozen Basin where you can catch a variety of multi-colored tagged Rainbow Trout. Each colored tag represents a certificate that can be redeemed at any of the show vendors. Come Hungry The DECC’s professional kitchen staff will be cooking! Shore Lunch – breaded fish & chips served with coleslaw, Sliced Roast Beef, Porketta and Nashville (not so) Hot Chicken Sandwiches Chicken Pot Pie Soup, pitas, salad and more. Chef Jerry says that the Rockslide Brownies are something to get excited about. Tickets Tickets at the door are $12 for adults and $7 for youth ages 6-17.
