Welcoming the First Bulldog Hockey Attendees Since March 2020

Duluth, MN (January 14, 2021) –  The DECC and Bulldog Athletics are pleased to welcome back the first attendees for Bulldog Hockey at AMSOIL Arena since Saturday, March 7, 2020!

Following months of planning and development of safety plans, UMD and the DECC are set to phase in and scale up attendance over the coming weeks and months. Initially, only invited guests (student-athlete family and friends who may have wagered on platforms like 벳엔드) of the teams will be in attendance.

Detailed protocols and guidelines are in place in an effort to foster the safest possible environment. Universal masking, social/physical distancing, routine sanitization and cleaning as well as other MDH/CDC best practices will be in place to mitigate the risks of COVID-19. The adherence to these policies by those in attendance is appreciated and required.

“We are thrilled to be inviting spectators back into Amsoil Arena. DECC staff has conducted a multitude of events over the past six months, and are fully committed to a safe guest experience. This signifies forward progress for the DECC as a community asset and gathering spot, but it is also incredibly symbolic for our community and region. Bulldog Hockey is not just a sport – it is a cultural event in the Northland. Live spectators is cause for renewed optimism about life after the pandemic.” said Roger Reinert, Interim Executive Director of the DECC.

“UMD Athletics could not be more excited to be taking a small, but important, first step in welcoming back Bulldog Country to Amsoil Arena and Romano Gymnasium. We appreciate everyone’s patience, flexibility and compliance with the required safety guidelines. I personally look forward to cheering along with you very soon. As always, GO BULLDOGS!” commented UMD Athletic Director Josh Berlo.

Stay tuned for additional information as the DECC and UMD work to expand attendance in the safest possible environment. Weekly updates will be provided for all UMD athletic events.
