DSSO Masterworks 3 – Bruckner’s Te Deum

Bruckner’s Te Deum

Masterworks 3

2024 marks the 200th birthday of Anton Bruckner. With his epic style, deeply rooted in his Christian faith, he influenced countless composers after him. We celebrate the master with the Symphonic Prelude, a work sometimes attributed to his great admirer Gustav Mahler, and his grand Te Deum, a work for chorus, vocal soloists, and orchestra, that Bruckner called “the pride of his life”. Alongside, we feature a soprano soloist with the Wesendonck Lieder, one of the great works by Richard Wagner, whom Bruckner worshiped. We round up the evening with the seldom performed, yet thrilling Symphony No.3 by Jean Sibelius.
