And while we all love the Duluth Haunted Ship, there are many wonderful happenings that have that essence of pumpkin spice! GET YOUR HAUNT ON! The Depot Haunted Tours—a petrifying peek into the Depot’s 130-year-old nooks and crannies—are held every two weeks in October. Are you afraid of ghosts? (experiencethedepot.org) What’s the Duluth Haunted Ship? Think a Haunted House aboard a 600ft vintage freighter. It takes a full 50 people to run this creepy tour that takes nearly 40 minutes to walk through! This iconic event has been happening for 29 years. (duluthhauntedship.com) A paranormal investigator runs the Duluth Ghost Tours. Kimberly, your “ghostess”, offers a variety of walking tours running from family-friendly to dreadful! (duluthghosttours.com) Duluth Haunted Ship Creepy Crawl –– join the cast creeping their way to board the Haunted Ship for the season on Oct 3 at 5:45pm just across the Lift Bridge! Those who dress up get free admission that night only. AUTUMN VIBES ONLY The Vista Fleet offers Lunch & Leaves Lake Superior Cruises on the weekends (vistafleet.com), and Spirit Mountain offers their Scenic Chairlift Ride with gorgeous views of the St. Louis River and Lake Superior (spiritmt.com) Farmer’s Market at The Depot—food, artisan vendors, & more—free apples on Oct. 3 and free pumpkins on Oct. 25, 11 am to 1:30 pm. (experiencethedepot.org) The whimsical folks at Lake Superior Art Glass came up with the Great Glass Pumpkin Hunt. To participate, get a map the day of the hunt, Oct 19 from 10AM – 1PM at the store. It’s finders keepers for these glass candy pumpkins and a fun memento of a fall day by the lake. THE ARTS IN FALL Poe The Ballet—spine-tingling dance from the Minnesota Ballet–October 24-27 and October 3. minnesotaballet.org, North Shorror—a free creepy, kooky art exhibit—begins October 11, 10 am to 5, daily. The historic auditorium is transformed into an intimate séance that will keep you on the edge of your seat. (duluthplayhouse.org) RUN LIKE THE WIND: Fall Run Grandma’s Marathon puts on the North End Nightmare 5k combining running and Halloween. Costume contest for best dressed participants.
