The Food & Beverage Warehouse Controller works closely with the Executive Chef, Catering Food and Beverage Manager and Concession managers to ensure that food and beverage requirements are met for all of the DECC’s food service functions. The position will coordinate and receive shipments from various vendors. The Food & Beverage Warehouse Controller will be tasked with building an efficient and comprehensive inventory system.


This is a part-time position and will primarily work weekdays during normal business hours, but may require occasional evenings and weekends.

The Food & Beverage Warehouse Controller must provide their own black or khaki slacks. The DECC will provide polos or t-shirts with the DECC logo.

  • Review event sheets and coordinate with the other Food Service Managers to ensure all of the DECC’s food and beverage inventory needs are met
  • Clean, stock, and organize the various food and beverage storage areas within the facility
  • Coordinate with various vendors to arrange orders and pickups
  • Be onsite to receive and inventory food and beverage orders
  • Create an efficient and effective inventory system
  • Other Duties as assigned

  • Ability to move quickly throughout the complex when an event(s) is located in multiple areas of the building or a supply run is required

There are no supervisory responsibilities for this position.

Work Environment
The Food & Beverage Warehouse Controller will be in varying work spaces based on the needs of each event. At times it will be small, quiet areas like pantries, and walk-in coolers, and at other times it will be loud, high traffic, and face-to-face with customers. They will be exposed to hot areas and also wet, humid, or very cold areas at times.

Physical Demands
This position will require someone that is able to stand on their feet for many hours at a time, moving quickly to different places based on needs. This position will require bending and maneuvering, and also the ability to move and lift up to 40 pounds at times.

Travel Required

Required Education and Experience

  • 1+ year of food service supply management
  • Experience evaluating inventory and determining needs
  • A strong familiarity with Microsoft Office and Excel
  • 1+ year of ordering through food vendors
  • There are no minimum education requirements for this position

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Stockroom supervisory experience

Additional Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Successful completion of reference checks
  • Successful completion of a background check
  • Successful completion of a drug test, if applicable

Work Authorization/Security Clearance Requirements
The DECC uses USCIS Form I-9 to verify the identity and employment authorization of individuals hired for employment. On the form, an employee must attest to his or her employment authorization. The employee is required to present the DECC with acceptable documents evidencing identity and employment authorization at the time of hire. The DECC will examine the employment eligibility and identity document(s).
The list of acceptable documents can be provided by Human Resources.

This position is at will. This means if you are offered the position and accept, your employment with the DECC is for an indefinite period of time and it is subject to termination by you or the DECC, with or without cause, with or without notice, and at any time.
