Summary/Objective
The Assistant Concessions Manager will assist in overseeing the staffing and execution of all concessions and cappuccino cart events within the DECC facility. This position will assist with hiring, training, scheduling, and providing feedback for all the concessions and cappuccino cart staff. The Assistant Concessions Manager will work closely with the Concessions Manager, Director of Food Services, Executive Chef and Sous Chef to stay informed about menu options and food service needs.

Schedule

This is a full-time position with a schedule based on DECC event needs. This position will have day, afternoon, and/or evening shifts scheduled on various days of the week and may include some holidays.  Approximately 32-40 hours per week.  The DECC cannot always schedule a definite ending time due to the nature of the events, but an estimated time will be provided.

Uniform
The required dress may fluctuate based on the events within the DECC. Business professional attire will be standard but there will be fluctuation based on event themes and tones. The DECC will provide a branded t-shirt and/or polo.

  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Train, schedule, supervise, and work alongside concession stand and cappuccino cart staff
  • Communicate with supervisors and managers to stay informed about menus and efficient food service methods to relay information to concession staff
  • Ensure concession areas meet and exceed food safety standards
  • Supervise concession cooks during the events when Chef staff are not on duty
  • Problem solve as needed
  • Management of Quest POS system, front of house and back of house
  • Cash handling, credit card, and till management
  • Assist with the organization & management of concession stand inventory
  • Other Duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities
Assist in scheduling, training, and supervising concession and cappuccino staff. Assist with timecard management.

Work Environment
The majority of work will be performed within doors. Many of the areas will fluctuate from moderate to loud noise levels. Temperature can fluctuate from hot to cold.

Physical Demands
This position will require someone that is able to stand on their feet for many hours at a time and move quickly to different places based on needs.  The Assistant Concessions Manager will need to use their hands frequently and be able to see, hear, and speak often. This position will require bending and maneuvering, and also the ability to move and lift up to 25 pounds at times.

Required Education and Experience

  • There are no minimum education requirements for this position
  • 2+ years of food service management
  • Cash handling experience

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Serve-Safe Certification
  • Concessions management experience within a sports facility
  • Previous Quest or other POS experience

Additional Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Successful completion of reference checks
  • Successful completion of a background check
  • Successful completion of a drug test, if applicable

Work Authorization/Security Clearance Requirements
The DECC uses USCIS Form I-9 to verify the identity and employment authorization of individuals hired for employment. On the form, an employee must attest to his or her employment authorization. The employee is required to present the DECC with acceptable documents evidencing identity and employment authorization at the time of hire. The DECC will examine the employment eligibility and identity document(s).
The list of acceptable documents can be provided by Human Resources.

At-Will Employment
This position is at-will. This means if you are offered the position and accept, your employment with the DECC is for an indefinite period of time and it is subject to termination by you or the DECC, with or without cause, with or without notice, and at any time.
