SME Minnesota Conference

The 92nd Annual Meeting of the Minnesota Section of SME is THE top performing regional minerals conference in the Midwest. Featuring a wide range of sessions addressing pressing industry issues, emerging industry trends and latest industry technology developments this must-attend conference has a long history of being one of the top performing regional conferences in the iron ore industry.

Every year, nearly 20 tons of new minerals must be provided for every person in the United States to make the things we use daily, from the iron ore used to build cars, buildings, and bridges to the copper used to carry the electricity powering your laptop.

To thrive in this modern era of mining we must rapidly adapt to the ever-evolving expectations of our industry. By leveraging technology, embracing modernization opportunities in operations and sustainability, and considering new mineral possibilities to broaden beyond the roots of the iron range, we insure a successful future.
A modern industry begins here.

2018 NERRS/NERRA Annual Meeting

The purpose of this meeting is to develop budgets, program strategies, and long- and short-term plans for the National Estuarine Research Reserve System. The meeting brings together all program sectors—management, research, education, training, stewardship, and representatives from the reserve system’s Friends and Foundations—to provide relevant, targeted information.

This is a working and decision-making gathering of interdisciplinary colleagues within the reserve system—all guided by similar mandates and funding sources. The 2018 Annual Meeting is the primary planning meeting for the year, so attendance by core staff members is a grant requirement within the NOAA operations award, which supports reserve program planning and implementation.
