senior-expo-logoThe 11th Annual Duluth Senior Expo will be held at the DECC on Wednesday, October 23, from 9 am to 3 pm. The annual Senior Expo draws thousands of attendees from throughout the region and features exhibitors, screenings, live entertainment, seminars, a fashion show and much more.

This year, an all-time record number of businesses will fill the exhibit hall with information on everything to do with being or becoming a senior. “As we enter our second decade of producing the Duluth Senior Expo we are very mindful and responsive to the new senior/older Americans that are working longer, are healthier, more mobile and certainly not ready to sit back and rest on their laurels. Seniors and our perceptions of seniors have changed in the last decade,” says Tracy Lundeen, Expo creator and producer.

“With so many boomers becoming seniors, we’re seeing music, fashions and lifestyles of a new generation of seniors with much of the generation gap that was so prevalent in the 60s and 70s rapidly disappearing. The second decade of Duluth Senior Expo promises opportunities and adapting to a new generation of older Americans

The Expo offers seniors, soon to be seniors, their family members, and friends a unique opportunity to meet in person many of the top products and service providers in the region in a fun and festive setting,” Lundeen adds.

This year the Hearing Associates Entertainment Stage features the popular Rock a Billy Revue who have been entertaining crowds throughout the region for years. RBR will perform their tributes to Roy Orbison, Elvis and much more. Also scheduled is the legendary Chmielewski Funtime Band, the Top Hats and the Sassy Senior Sweatshop Zumba Fitness Group.

His presentation, “Social Security-The Cornerstone of Retirement Income” is being hosted by the Hermantown Federal Credit Union.” This presentation is of particular interest to people planning for Social Security ages 55 to 66.
